What are the reasons for the damage of the transmission valve body?

The transmission valve body is located above the transmission oil pan. You can see the valve body after removing the oil pan. Only automatic transmissions have valve bodies; manual transmissions do not. As one of the components in the transmission, the transmission valve body is a hydraulic control unit that converts electronic control into hydraulic pressure, which promotes the shifting of high and low gears in the transmission. The transmission valve body can control the shift mechanism by switching the oil circuits in the valve body.

The gearbox valve body is a key component that controls the gears in the gearbox. If the valve body is damaged, it may further affect the damage of other parts of the gearbox. Therefore, when the valve body fails, go to a professional repair shop or 4S shop for repair. Of course, the parts on the vehicle will be damaged. For example, the transmission valve body may be damaged for the following reasons:

1. Due to structural damage or insufficient sealing, the internal pressure of the valve body is insufficient, making it difficult to separate or combine shifting actions;

2. The solenoid valve or mechanical part in the valve body is damaged, causing the original function to not be fully exerted normally;

3. If the oil in the valve body has been used for too long, too many impurities in the oil will cause the valve body to run slowly and aggravate the wear of the valve body.

Symptoms of gearbox valve body damage

1. There is a feeling of vibration when shifting gears, and there is a obvious sense of frustration when shifting gears;

2. There is a strong sense of frustration when engaging a gear, and the engaging action is not smooth, etc.

3. The transmission makes abnormal noises while driving;

4. The transmission fault light is displayed on the dashboard.

As long as the transmission valve body is regularly inspected and maintained, the probability of failure will be reduced.

1. Regularly clean and inspect the wear degree of the valve body, but the valve body is a part and needs to be opened for inspection and cleaning in a dust-free environment. The cleaning process also needs to be cleaned with a professional cleaning solution;

2. Regularly replace the special oil for the valve body to keep the oil in the valve body pure.
