Foundry: Casting The production process is a complex combination of comprehensive processes, including many production processes and links, from the preparation of metallic and non-metallic materials to alloy smelting, molding, core making, mold closing and pouring, cleaning, casting defect elimination heat treatment to obtain qualified castings. The casting production process includes the following main processes:

1. Preparation of molding sand and core sand

The preparation process of molding sand directly affects the quality of the molding sand. The preparation of molding sand is generally divided into raw material preparation and inspection, and molding sand preparation and quality control.

2. The method and process of manufacturing sand molds using molding sand and pattern equipment for modeling are called modeling.

There are many kinds of modeling methods, which depend on the shape, size and technical requirements of the casting.

3. Smelting

The process and operation of changing metal from solid to liquid by heating, and removing impurities from the molten metal through metallurgical reaction to make its temperature and composition meet the specified requirements is called smelting. There are many kinds of equipment for smelting metal. We produce cast iron platforms, and cupola furnaces are generally used for machine tool casting.

4. Sand mold drying

For some larger or higher quality requirements Castings Dry-type pouring is generally used. For example, large cast iron platforms, machine tool bed castings, machine tool worktables, etc.

5. Pouring

The operation of injecting molten metal from the ladle into the mold is called pouring.

6. Cleaning

The process of removing surface sand, molding sand and excess metal from the casting after sand falling is called cleaning.

7. Casting heat treatment

Foundry : The process of heating the casting to a certain temperature range, keeping it for a period of time, and then cooling it to an appropriate temperature at a specified rate to obtain the expected structure and performance is called casting heat treatment. The purpose of heat treatment of castings is to eliminate the casting stress of the castings. For example, cast iron platforms and machine tool worktables must be heat treated before processing.
